StarCraft II Confirmed for 2009

02 Sep, 2008, 2:49 pm IST | by Nikhil Singh | PC

Since the announcement of StarCraft II a lot of us hoped that the game would release this year. Activision pretty much shot down that dream of ours when they announced that we won’t get to play the game this year. On the bright side though, the game WILL release in 2009 and not in 2010 as speculated. Don’t believe me? Here’s the announcement in their words:

Next year's offerings from Activision Blizzard should include highly anticipated PC strategy title StarCraft II, the sequel to one of the world's most enduringly popular games.

While they didn’t mention which month/quarter the game would release in, it’s just nice to know that we won’t have to wait until 2010 for the game. I only wish that Diablo III will release in 2009 too. That would make it a truly epic year!
