Valve Acquires Turtle Rock Studios

11 Jan, 2008, 2:46 pm IST | by Nikhil Singh | PC

With Left 4 Dead’s release just around the corner, everyone's got all eyes on Turtle Rock Studios; so does Valve. In fact, Valve has just acquired the developer! They’ve worked together on quite a few pretty successful projects such as Counter Strike: Condition Zero and Counter Strike: Source, so this move came naturally for Valve. Here’s what Gabe Newell, president of Valve said:

"Given our expectations for Left 4 Dead and our long-standing relationships with members of the Turtle Rock team, this was an easy decision. It also gives us a base from which to expand our development activities in the Los Angeles area."

Michael Booth, founder and CEO of Turtle Rock Studios had this to say:

"As I spent time working and talking with the creators of those products over the past several years, it became clear that this was the right next step for myself, my colleagues at Turtle Rock, our customers, and our products."
