Fans of Creative Technology products in India have reason to cheer. Besides adding more products from its catalogue such as webcams, headphones, X-Fi soundcards and MP3 players, Creative will be launching its new external USB audio device and portable audio enhancer, called Xmod in India next month. Eddie Yap, Manager of regional sales for Creative Labs, Asia said, "India is a huge emerging market for gadgets and gizmos. At present, we are distributed via four Indian partners, but we plan to expand in retail channels and conduct awareness campaigns via road shows and exhibitions in the next few months. We already have 21 service centers in India but we plan to set up exclusive Creative Tech outlets throughout India, in the near future." "Creative audio devices come with all vital accessories, packaged as one product, which is a cheaper deal than rival products, where consumers have to keep buying things like adaptors and accessories separately. Indians will soon realize the value for money and opt for Creative Products", said Yap. After the recent legal settlement with Apple Computers, the equation between the two companies has changed. The two companies will now collaborate in terms of manufacturing and retailing. While Creative now has the right to manufacture 'Made for the iPod' accessories such as dock stations, Apple retail stores will house Creative's new product, the Xmod in the next quarter.
