Samsung’s been a bit quiet on the digital camera front in the Indian sector for a while, so when they announced the launch of their new, advanced DualView and High Zoom camera models across the WB, ST and PL series, it was sure to get the community going ga-ga. A total of five new models have been announced for India, viz. the PL100, PL150, PL200, ST600 and WB600. Three of the new models - the ST600, PL150 and PL100 will be equipped with a secondary display. The secondary display comes in handy for the narcissist in you, or to take those cheesy Facebook profile shots. PL Series The new Samsung DualView PL150 and PL100 come with 12 MP CCDs. The PL150 is equipped with 5x optical zoom and a 27mm-wide angle lens. The PL100 features a standard 35mm lens with 3x optical zoom. The PL150 and PL100 also feature a slanted design, which places the back of the camera at a seven degree angle. The reason for this rather unique shape is to make sure the lenses will always be pointed at the subjects’ faces even if the camera is positioned at a lower angle. PL100 and PL150 come with dual displays Samsung's PL200 14.2 mega pixel (a true-color filtered CCD) camera features HD video-recording (720p @30fps, H.264), 7x optical zoom lens, and a 3-inch LCD screen. The PL200 records video in 720p at 30fps The Samsung PL100 is priced at Rs. 9,490/- while PL150 and PL200 are priced at Rs. 10,990/- and Rs. 11,990 respectively.
