Sony Walkman X-Series PMP Gets a Price

26 Feb, 2009, 11:37 am IST | by Shayne Rana | PMPs

Sony’s latest and possibly greatest addition to their Walkman range of Media Players, the X-Series, was unveiled at the beginning of this year at CES. There was no pricing attached to the device then but reports are in and to be brutally honest, they don’t look too good.

The touchscreen X-Series PMP will be available in two capacities – 16GB and 32GB. What really has me worried is the pricing which is – Rs. 15, 378 ($308) and Rs. 20, 321 ($407) respectively.

Just to recap, some of the X-Series’ features include -

  • 3-Inch OLED, 16:9, touchscreen
  • DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine)
  • Wi-FI capabilities for YouTube connectivity and downloading Podcasts
  • A Web Browser
  • Flick control for viewing images
