First iPod Dock/Pocket Projector Unveiled

11 Nov, 2009, 12:31 pm IST | Shayne Rana | Projectors

The Pico projector for mobile handsets is aiming to be a rather serious product for users. But with that kind of technology floating around, it’s no wonder that a company called Sparkz has designed and developed the very first iPod Dock slash portable projector. The dock, like others also charges the iPod while plugged in. It also comes with a set of external speakers and an Audio Out function as well.

It also comes with an internal battery that the company claims will offer users up to 2 and half hours of playback on a single charge. It seems small and convenient enough to carry around with dimensions of - 4.5 x 3 x 2.5 inches. It offers a 640 x 480 resolution on a viewing area up to 60 inches. The device can also be attached to a tripod stand that’s included. It also works with other media devices including laptops that support AV out.

The price listed is about Rs. 22,918 ($495) which seems just about right for a device like this. There’s no word on it officially hitting the Indian market of course but you never know. It’s possible that it could be available through unofficial sources though.
