Sony to Launch 80GB PS3 in South Korea

If you think the 60GB hard-disk is insufficient for your PS3 multimedia needs, here’s something that’ll interest you (especially if you live in South Korea).

Sony has announced that they will launch an 80GB model of the PlayStation 3 in South Korea on June 16, since online games are incredibly popular there, and the broadband backbone is really strong and well spread. Here's what Satoshi Fukuoka, spokesman for Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. had to say:

"Increasing capacity for models is one of the options. We make such decisions depending on the needs of the market, and every country is different."

Whether they plan to launch this 80GB version in other parts of the world or not, is still unclear. Let’s hope that India sees a launch for the same sometime soon.
