| Adobe Systems and Ricoh announced an agreement to develop and co-market document scanning, security and print solutions based on Adobe PDF. The integration of Adobe LiveCycle Policy Server software, Adobe print and scan technologies with Ricoh Document Solutions and its multifunction (MFP) and laser printer (LP) devices will transform the way knowledge workers convert paper processes into more secure digital workflows. Now, the scan of a printed page to a searchable, more secure, and compact Adobe PDF file can initiate a mission critical process. Knowledge workers can establish more secure digital workflows for scanned documents, adding user permissions and policies, encryption, digital signatures, and time stamps certified by trusted authorities. "Ricoh has been an important Adobe partner since 1999. By partnering in the areas of PostScript and PDF, the two companies helped shape high quality document output for many customers. Now we're working together to make business processes and documents more efficient and secure," said Shantanu Narayen, President and COO at Adobe. "We are natural partners in that Ricoh has long provided world class digital products and solutions, and Adobe is the standard in document software," said Katsumi Yoshida, Corporate Executive Vice President, Ricoh.
