| Visioneer, Inc., a leader in intelligent imaging solutions, today announced the Xerox DocuMate 152, the first and only document scanner that enables users to scan, store and locate any file, e-mail message, attachment or scanned document instantly. The Xerox DocuMate 152, priced at $695, is a small, easy-to-use, color sheetfed scanner designed for desktop use and allows people to scan double-sided documents at speeds up to 30 images per minute. Over $400 in bundled software includes X1 Technologies Enterprise Desktop Search, ScanSoft PaperPort 10, OmniPage Pro OCR, NewSoft Presto! BizCard, Visioneer OneTouch and a TWAIN driver. Jon Franke, consultant at InfoTrends stated, "By simply pressing a DocuMate 152 button, it will scan the document, convert the image into a searchable PDF file format, launch the Outlook e-mail client and link the converted searchable PDF file as an e-mail attachment without ever touching the keyboard." "Adding instant search capabilities to PDF documents ensures that users get the most out of their document capture solution," said Josh Jacobs, president of X1 Technologies. "Bundling X1 Enterprise Desktop Search Client with Xerox DocuMate 152 gives users an integrated solution that has all the capabilities of document capture and enterprise desktop search." The Xerox DocuMate 152 offers an optical resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi, 48-bit internal color, hi-speed USB 2.0 interface (USB 1.1 compatible) and a 50-page Automatic Document Feeder. It includes a software bundle that allows consumers and business professionals to automatically scan paper documents to image-over-text searchable PDF. [/TAGS] |
