Sony has given the public its first peek at a flexible electronic paper, or e-paper, that is made by organic thin film transistors which can be bent to a radius of at least 5mm. Bend to my will...
The e-paper is a prototype and uses E Ink Corp's electrophoretic front plane laminate, while the semi-conductor is made up of Peri-Xanthenoxanthene (PXX). The black and white e-paper has a screen size of 13.3-inches and a pixel size of 1600x1200. The resolution is 150ppi with a contrast ratio of 10:1. The same technology was also used in Sony’s OLED panel which could be bent around a pencil.
