| Google is set to become a bookworm's best friend after announcing the launch of its web based book search catalogue. Google Book Search will allow users to search, organize and browse books in all languages, aiming to be a virtual depository for access to every single book in the world. The University of California has agreed to digitize more than two and a half million volumes, defying skeptics and a handful of publishers and authors who were opposed to the digital copies. According to the deal, Google shall own all rights, title and interest in and to the Google Digital Copy. In return, Google agreed to provide one copy of all Digitized Selected Content to the University, within thirty days of the selected content being digitized. Read more here. |
