Android 2.0 Eclair Announced - Feature Rich

Android’s v2.0 that they’re calling Éclair is now supported by the Android SDK. According to their official blog entry - Android 2.0 will bring new developer APIs for sync, Bluetooth, and a few other areas. Using the new sync, account manager and contacts APIs, users will be able to write applications to enable other users to sync their devices to various contact sources. With the new Bluetooth API, users will now be able to add peer-to-peer connectivity or gaming to their applications. Click here for the full list of features. The blog also states that there would be a slew of new Android powered devices being launched before the end of 2009 that will run on Android 1.5, 1.6, or 2.0. Android is also planning on launching a minor version update of Android 2.0 towards the end of the year which could be the last update for this year.
