Mobile Internet Devices (MID), Netbooks, Slate and tablet PCs are all the rage these days and quite few of the big players have opted to design one or more of these devices. At CommunicAsia 2010, at the NTT Docomo booth a few trendy new gadgets made an appearance. To kick things off was the Sharp manufactured Lynx SH-10B which is a neat looking MID with what seems like a comfortable to use keypad and large widescreen 5-inch touchscreen display (960 x 480-pixel resolution). Android v1.6 is what it runs on, according to a report. For better navigation the company has added a little trackball on the keypad. The device also comes equipped with a 5.2-megapixel camera located on the rear as well as Bluetooth connectivity and Wi-Fi as well as IRDA and HSDPA. Like some of the new tablet PC’s we can expect soon, the SH-10B can also be used for calls and will come bundled with a handsfree for that specific purpose. So what does that make this, a large handset you can’t possibly hold to your head or a mini-netbook if ever a category like that emerges? |
