The iPhone 3G has been unlocked and we have the guys from the iPhone Dev team to thank for their hard work and perseverance. Though this unlocking has been a work in progress for quite some time now but the wait is over. To make things more legit, a video was made showing an iPhone 3G getting unlocked with all the steps involved in the same. The Dev-Team has codenamed the project yellowsn0w. As the reports and video will show, the process is little more technical, so an average user won’t really be able to pull this off if they don’t have the know-how. In light of this, the team is planning on developing a simpler version. It's possible that the software might be distributed via the third party developers system so in this case you’ll have to have a jailbroken iPhone in order to use it. Those with version 2.11.07 or earlier versions will get the best out of this procedure. Source GSM Arena. |
