Dopod Launches D600 in India

Dopod has just launched the new D600 Windows Mobile smartphone in India.

The D600 is a quad-band GSM phone with GPRS support. It runs Windows Mobile 5.0 on a TI OMAP850 processor running at 201MHz with 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB of RAM. It has a large, 2.8-inch QVGA touch screen, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and SD/MMC card support to add more memory. Unfortunately, there's no WiFi in this one.

The device comes with the standard bundle of Windows Mobile applications, including Internet Explorer Mobile, Office Mobile (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, Pocket MSN and support for DirectPush Mail.

Dopod, which is owned by Windows Mobile device manufacturer HTC, which also offers the devices to i-mate and O2.

The D600 will be available starting from February at an MRP of Rs. 22,893.
