Indonesia has threatened to close BlackBerry service in the country if it refuses to block pornographic content. Indonesian Communication and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring said Tuesday that he had requested the Canada- based Research In Motion, the maker of BlackBerry, to block adult content for its service in the country, Xinhua said, citing local media reports. "If they are still not responding to our request, we have to close it down," the minister said. According to the minister the banning on pornographic site on the internet is in line with the country's 2008 anti-pornography law. "RIM may violate our law if it remains providing porn content in its service (in Indonesia)," Tifatul said. |
