In December of 2008 we heard rumors that Apple, in addition to their next gen iPhone could also be in the process of developing a smaller version, an iPhone Nano. According to recent reports, it seems like Palm's latest offering to the world of Smart Phones, the Palm Pre, will also be going the 'Nano' way. While the much awaited Pre is due to be out soon (possibly May or June of '09), word is that the company is also planning to introduce a smaller version of the device a little later. There's no name give to the device yet nor is there any hard evidence that Palm is really considering one at all. A few other reports are however talking about the device being launched later this year. The same reports also mention that the new handset would also run the new WebOS operating system so no one will loose out on the experience. With regards to design changes, there’s nothing on that yet. If the information is correct it's possible that the new device would probably be for a lower end market and just might not be a slider to cut manufacturing cost, but again, we'll just have to wait and see, for now, the 'Device that shall be nameless' is a concept not yet fortified by fact, so stay tuned for more. |
