Airtel and RIM Launch 8220 Pearl Flip

Airtel and Research in Motion (RIM) have announced the launch of the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone in India. This is RIM’s first attempt at a flip phone clamshell device that tries to embody a business sense in a more fashionable form factor. "The BlackBerry Pearl Flip is a powerful, compact smartphone equipped to deliver a wide range of applications,'" said Sanjay Gupta, Chief Marketing Officer, Mobile Services, Airtel. "This continues to reinforce our commitment to enhance and deliver the best communication experience to our users with the latest BlackBerry smartphones from Airtel." The new BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone is equipped with an enhanced SureType keyboard for easy text entry and phone dialing and an internal QVGA 2.4-inch (diagonal) display sporting a 320 x 240 pixel 65k color resolution.
