ACCESS has demonstrated the ACCESS Linux Platform here at 3GSM. ACCESS Linux Platform or ALP, is a Linux-based software platform that is optimized for running on mobile devices such as phones. The user interface of the OS is GTK-based. Demonstrations of the platform were shown on TI OMAP and Marvell PX3xx-based devices, which were running telephony, messaging as well as multimedia applications. The platform natively includes applications such as the NetFront web browser, HandMail, iMessenger, HotSync (with a Windows-based frontend) and other normal applications for multimedia, camera and PIM. Communication wise, the platform includes support for WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, USB as well as the TCP/IP network stack. |
