Camera samples, specifications of the upcoming Sony LT29i surface

Sony has recently unveiled their flagship smartphone the Xperia S in India and the brand is wasting no time in preparing another high end handset that is expected to be launched by this quarter of 2012. According to a report by Android Advice, Sony will be officially taking the wraps off a handset that goes by the codename LT29i Hayabusa. The fun doesn’t just stop with the codename that is commonly associated with the speed demon from Suzuki but the website has also detailed some of the specifications expected to feature on this handset.

As per the report, the LT2i will feature a 1.5 Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, which is similar to the one found on the HTC One S handset. As for the graphics, it is believed that the handset will feature an Adreno 225 GPU. Sony has only just begun releasing Android 4.0 on their handsets but for those who were wondering, this handset will feature Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich pre installed. The resolution of the display is expected to be 1280 x 720.

Apart from the above mentioned specifications, the website states, “This will be pre loaded with various Sony’s new features like Smart Tags allowing users to switch settings pre defined where you keep your tags, SmartWatch is a hand watch which offers many functions without carrying your handset, and Smart Pro wireless headset is enhanced wireless headset which also provides various capabilities of phone.”

In a related report by Xperia Blog, the website shares a little more information on what to expect from the Sony LT29i Hayabusa. They state that two new pictures taken from the smartphone had been uploaded on Picasa and from the EXIF data one can gather that the handset will run on the build number 7.0.A.0.599_53_b100. The website notes, “The 7.0.X firmware is the next major iteration of Sony Mobile’s UI (eDream 7).” As for the display size one can expect it to be over 4-inches.

As for the price, it is believed that the handset will be available for less than 495 Euros, which roughly translates to around Rs. 33,489. With the launch date expected to be during this quarter, more details will surely surface regarding the handset, giving everyone a clearer picture about the same.
