The HTC Viva running on a Windows Mobile OS was one of the cheaper Smartphones at one point of time. Since then the market got a little more competitive and while Samsung’s Corby handsets have virtually flooded the market with touchscreen handsets in a variety of forms, HTC has stepped up at CES with their latest handset that’s simply called the ‘Smart’. They always had a way with names. The HTC Smart will be using a 300MHz speed processor to run on Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile Platform with HTC’s Sense UI on top. Other and features include - - a 2.8-inch TFT touchscreen display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution - 3G, EDGE/GPRS - Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0 - 3 megapixel camera - microSD card support - 3.5mm handsfree socket Although the pricing hasn’t been revealed, it’s designed to be an affordable Smartphone and being aimed initially at the European and Asian (thankfully) markets. I estimate itto be in the Rs. 12,000 range give or take. Click here for more images. |
