CES 2012: Tegra brings in the goods

Doors swung open this morning on the NVIDIA booth at CES 2012, and Tegra devices are virtually spilling out of it. Hot on the heels of yesterday’s press conference — where Tegra CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang and ASUS CEO, Jerry Shen introduced the new quad-core 7-inch ASUS tablet powered by Tegra 3, priced at $249, we’re getting to see the diversity factor that Android tablets are bringing to the table. Below is a quick tour of what’s new with Tegra at CES 2012.

These Tegra 3-powered devices were announced at CES 2012:

  • ASUS Eee Pad MeMo ME370T - 7-inch Android tablet, priced at $249.
  • ASUS Transformer Prime TF700T, toting a 1920 x 1200 resolution 1080p HD display, a new 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a new chassis.
  • Acer Iconia Tab A700 Android tablet, with a similar 10.1-inch form factor, but packing a 1920 x 1200 resolution 1080p HD display. It features a microSD card slot, HDMI port and, of course, Bluetooth support.
  • Lenovo IdeaPad K2 Android tablet, boasting a 1920 x 1200 IPS display, both front- and rear-facing cameras, DDR3 high-performance memory and SRS surround sound technology.
  • Fujitsu announced an Android super phone, running the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

 

These Tegra 3-powered tablets that have been announced so far:

 

  • Acer Iconia Tab A510 Android tablet, sporting a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display.
  • ZTE’s Android tablet, which marries the performance of the Tegra 3  mobile processor into a highly portable 7-inch form factor boasting a 1280 x 800 resolution.
  • ASUS Transformer Prime TF201 is also on display with Android 4.0 ICS. The ICS update is rolling out to consumers via an OTA update.
