A couple of weeks back, we reported that Google Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) may be landing on the Motorola Milestone sometime soon. It has already happened for phones from other manufacturers. One can download the custom ROM for their phone from CyanogenMod's web site. A separate branch meant for Motorola Milestone development now has it too. Initially, it was suggested that the Milestone would not support Android 2.3. Many Milestone users are still waiting for an official Android 2.2 build A early preview build of the CyanogenMod 7 mod for the Milestone was uploaded to the site a few days ago. The build is an extremely early development release which has plenty of bugs and some missing features. To get an idea of what’s in store in Gingerbread, check out our news story from when it was released. Motorola is yet to provide customers with an Android 2.2 (FroYo) build. |
