Details of successor of HTC One X leaked via tweet

| by Aaron Almeida | Smartphones

The leaks of the next generation HTC smartphones are coming consistently. Over the past few weeks, there have been rumours of an upcoming HTC handset codenamed Accord, which then came to be known as the HTC X8. This handset has not been launched yet, but an HTC event scheduled for September 19, we may see quite a few smartphones from the Taiwanese handset manufacturer. While the HTC One X8 is expected to run on the latest mobile operating platform from Microsoft, which is Windows Phone 8, it appears that the brand is preparing another handset, which will run on Google’s latest smartphone operating system, Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean). This Android handset will be a successor to the brand’s current flagship smartphone, the HTC One X, and it will be called the HTC One X+.

@Football4PDA, a Twitter user, has been providing leaks about upcoming HTC smartphones for the past few days. In the latest post, he provides details such as weight, dimensions as well as the processor used in this upcoming smartphone. @Football4PDA tweeted, “HTC One X+ Size 134.36x69.9x9.3mm Weight 129g nVida AP37 1.6GHZ quad core; 1.7GHZ Single core ROM:32GB RAM:1gb Android 4.1 Sense 4.5”

Take my money!

The successor to the One X is in the works and goes by the name One X+

The tweeter also provides other interesting details about the smartphone such as it has an 1800mAh battery. This may come as a disappointment to HTC fans as it pales in comparison with the one used in Samsung Galaxy S III, which uses a 2100mAh battery.

While this is still an unannounced handset, we had published a detailed review of it.

The HTC One X packs some nifty features in a slim design and is aimed at the high-end mobile users. It runs Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. It sports an 8MP shooter and can record 1080p videos @24fps.

Here's a more detailed look at the specifications of the HTC One X:

  • 4.7-inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution
  • 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi (Hot spot), Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA
  • NFC, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0
  • GPS with A-GPS support
  • 8 megapixel with LED flash, BSI sensor, 1.3 megapixel front camera
  • Stereo FM Radio
  • 32GB memory, 1GB RAM
  • MHL for AV out

For those who already use the HTC One X, and are waiting for the update to the latest Google Android operating system, Jelly Bean, @Football4PDA tweets that HTC will release it by the end of December this year.
