Flipkart have listed the Samsung Galaxy 551 for sale. The phone carries Android 2.2 Froyo and boasts identical specs to the Galaxy 3 – apart from a slide-out QWERTY keypad. The phone features a 3.2-inch capacitative touchscreen, 667MHz processor, an Accelerometer, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-fi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity options and a MicroUSB port. Android features like Social Network Integration, Google search and Google Maps are also included. Galaxy QWERTY Galaxy 3 users have been clamouring for a Froyo update ever since the LG Optimus One came out and the existence of Froyo on this phone will probably give them some hope, seeing as they’re both identically-specced. We’ll be hoping their prayers are answered with a firmware update soon. Anyway, the Galaxy 551 is available on Flipkart for Rs. 12,799 with a listed MRP of Rs. 15,930. While there has been no official word on this handset hitting India as of now, Flipkart has it listed as “in stock” so we will probably hear from Samsung soon. Rest assured, we will keep you updated.
