Remember the Nexus 4G, which was touted as Google’s latest Nexus smartphone. There were also talks that the search-engine giants might plan their Ice Cream Sandwich device with LG or some other manufacturer. However, the latest rumour doing the rounds suggest that Google will stick to their tried and tested buddy –Samsung, to manufacture what is codenamed as the Nexus Prime.
I am Nexus Prime!
BGR’s sources say that the Nexus Prime will boast of a screen with a Super AMOLED HD branding which in turn confirms that Samsung indeed will manufacture the smartphone. Also, the Nexus Prime will be powered by Texas Instrument’s OMAP 4460 processor. It’s quite obvious that being a Google branded device, the Nexus Prime will not be locked to a particular carrier and neither will it have any OEM customization. Apparently, Google will be working with multiple carriers and manufacturers on their own Android 4.0-toting smartphones. We’ve heard of the competition heating up, but even imagining a slew of flagship handsets from HTC, Motorola, LG and others is sheer madness. We’re really waiting to get a leaked picture of the Nexus Prime or whatever the smartphone will be called. |
