HTC One S available in India on Saholic for Rs. 33,000

The news of the HTC One S appears to be coming in thick and fast with various reputable online stores already dishing out the handset. This latest bit of information comes from a listing on Saholic, where they have priced this high-end handset at Rs. 33,000 - more than Rs. 3,000 cheaper than what Infibeam is offering.

The One S is available online

This phone’s processor has been a source of intense speculation with HTC confirming that the One S would come with a Snapdragon S3 chipset, rather than the S4 in select regions, including Asia. However the spec sheet of this handset on Saholic lists it as a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon, but there is no mention of whether it is the S3 or the S4. In all likelihood, if the spec sheet lists the handset as having a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, then it should be Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon S4 processor.

Touted as an equally powerful phone as the HTC One X, the One S was left out when HTC initially announced their One series. In the first half of March, it was reported that Manu Seth, Country Head of Marketing for HTC India, said that HTC will be launching Android Ice Cream Sandwich-based smartphones, the One X, One V and One S in the first week of April for the Indian market. However, HTC only launched the One X and One V in India on April 2 and no word surfaced about the third handset from HTC’s One series, the One S. That has changed now however, as the phone is finally selling for that price tag. It’s also interesting to note that the Black version of the One S had a micro arc oxidation problem and HTC was offering replacements for devices that faced these problems.
