HTC One S gets priced at Rs. 36,157 online

| by Karan Shah | Smartphones

Online store Infibeam has priced the HTC One S at Rs. 36,157 and the phone is now available for purchase. The One S sports a 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. It runs on Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 4 UI and has 16GB of internal memory with 1GB of RAM. The phone that has been listed on Infibeam is said to have a 1.5 GHz dual core processor. This phone’s processor has been a source of intense speculation with HTC confirming that the One S would come with a Snapdragon S3 chipset, rather than the S4, in select regions including Asia. We’d recommend you double check the specs as chances are high that it could be the 1.7 GHz S3 processor and not the 1.5 GHz S4 as mentioned on Infibeam. The phone comes with a 1650 mAh battery.

Here are the rest of the specifications of the phone:

  • 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 540 x 960 pixel resolution
  • 3G, EDGE/GPRS and Wi-Fi capabilities for net access
  • GPS with A-GPS support for Google Maps
  • Bluetooth with A2DP and USB 2.0 (Micro)
  • 8MP camera with LED flash and secondary camera up front
  • FM radio
  • 16GB internal

Touted as an equally powerful phone as the HTC One X, the One S was left out when HTC initially announced their One series. In the first half of March, it was reported that Manu Seth, Country Head of Marketing for HTC India, said that HTC will be launching Android Ice Cream Sandwich based smartphones, the One X, One V and One S in the first week of April for the Indian audiences. However, HTC only launched the One X and One V in India on April 2, and no word had surfaced about the third handset from HTC’s One series, the One S. That has changed now, however as the phone is finally selling for that price tag. It’s also interesting to note that the Black version of the One S had a micro arc oxidation problem and HTC was offering replacements for those devices that faced these problems. Anyway, the phone has finally come to India amidst a lot of hullaballoo. Will you go for the One S at this price?

We’ve already established that the Lumia 720 is Nokia’s best effort as far as Windows Phone 8 handsets go. This could soon change once the Lumia 925 hits markets, but as it stands now, the Lumia 720 offers the best blend of features and performance, wrapped in a beautiful package that’s quite affordable.
