Vivid Entertainment, a porn studio has filed a cease and desist letter asking HTC to stop using the moniker ‘Vivid’ for their newly launched smartphone. The company has threatened to file a lawsuit against the Taiwanese mobile phone maker if they don’t change the name quickly. The only statement that HTC was able to give was, "We are reviewing the complaint and don’t expect to have any further comment until it is resolved,” as reported by TheVerge. The reason for this hoopla behind a name is that the lawyers for Vivid Entertainment believe that consumers might confuse them for mobile phone makers, we however fail to see any connection.
