ICS-running Intex Aqua Style smartphone launched for Rs 11,200

An official statement confirms that Intex Technologies has added another model to its Aqua smartphones range – the Intex Aqua Style. The company has launched its Aqua Style smartphone at Rs 11,200. Intex calls the Aqua Style a new generation dual-SIM (2G+3G) phablet that runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
The phone is powered by a 1GHz Dual-Core processor with 512MB RAM. It supports 3G video calling through SIM/third party applications and is designed to function and communicate at a greater speed. This gives the user ample space to save multiple heavy files. The interactive user icons can be personalised at the homescreen for easy access to frequently used files and apps.

The phone boasts of a 2500mAh battery, which gives user a talktime of 3.5 hours and 100 hours of standby. Other features include face unlock, flip mute, pattern lock security, smart screen capture, music player with 3D equaliser, file manager, four sensors- G- Sensor, proximity, motion and gesture etc.
It is bundled with Gmail, Nimbuzz, Facebook, WhatsApp, Google Maps and YouTube. One can also download a plethora of applications on to their phones from Play store.
Available in black and white colours, the handset can be bought through 15,000 plus distributors and reseller outlets and is available at more than 40 INTEX SQUARES (exclusive retail stores) and several hypermarkets across the country.
Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar, General Manager – Mobile Business, Intex Technologies, said, “Consumers in today’s time are very demanding especially when they are spoilt for choice. Since, the price of smartphones has lowered so much, the lifecycle of them is between 6-12 months. Therefore, companies need to continuously upgrade their existing models and at the same time, bring in new models. AQUA Style is one such offering from our Aqua smartphone range which will create a new mass user base for 5.9 inches screen phones. Its unique capacitive touchscreen combined with an array of desired features makes it an ideal choice for consumers between the age group of 15-40 years."
Earlier this month, the company launched its dual-SIM smartphone, the Aqua Wonder. The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and has 512MB of RAM. The device looks sleek, has an 8.9mm-thick waistline and weighs 125gm.
The AQUA Wonder comes with a 4.5-inch IPS touchscreen that has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The phone has an 8 megapixel rear camera with dual-flash and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. The device gives you 1.93GB of storage space and supports microSD cards up to 32GB in size.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The phone is equipped with an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, a compass and a proximity sensor. There's also an 1800mAH battery, which the company claims will give you talk time of 3.5 hours and standby time of up to 72 hours.
The handset comes with Jelly Bean's stock apps and features such as face-unlock, live wallpapers, Google Maps, YouTube and the Google Play store. Pre-installed apps include a file manager, WhatsApp, Facebook, Nimbuzz, Skype and Google+. The company bundles a 4GB microSD card, a phone pouch and a screen guard. The Aqua Wonder comes in two colours—black and white. Intex has priced the smartphone at Rs 9,990.
