The highly anticipated iPhone 5 is set to make its debut in India today after being launched first on September 21 in select markets across the globe. The pre-orders for the new flagship smartphone from Apple had started a few days ago. The company's distribution partners in India had issued announcements that the iPhone 5 will land on shelves today, November 2. However, those wanting to purchase the iPhone 5 today should not get their hopes up. Sources within Apple’s official retail channels have informed us that only those who pre-ordered the handset would receive it today, while others will have to wait up to nearly two weeks. ![]() iPhone 5 launching today
Redington, one of the distributors of the iPhone 5 in India, revealed the prices of the handset with the base model (16GB) being launched for Rs 45,500. The 32GB version of the iPhone 5 will be available for Rs 52,500, and the 64GB model for Rs 59,500. These prices are more or less on par with the iPhone 4S from the previous generation, when it was first launched in India.
