Apple’s WWDC and Google I/O have already taken place this year and all the major announcements and launches have happened. Now, everyone's eyes are set on the next big launch, that of Apple’s iPhone 5. Many expected the new iPhone to be launched, but Apple went ahead with the iPhone 4S, which included a bundle of new features and performance improvements. The iPhone 5 now has a new rumoured date, sometime around the end of of August or early September this year, as per a Chinese site, Sina. This new iPhone is said to have LTE support built into it. The iPhone 5 was first rumoured to be launching in October last year. Foxconn of course, is going to be the one producing the new iPhone. There’s no official acknowledgement of this so far, but we’ll expect to hear more about the product as the months pass by. ![]() Very likely to launch in the next few months
Two rumours of the iPhone 5 seem to be consistent for quite a while now. One of which is that the iPhone 5 will have a redesigned casing with a larger display and the second is that it will feature a micro dock. The next iPhone is expected to feature a major design overhaul and it is said to be much bigger, measuring 58.47 mm wide, 123.83 mm high and 7.6 mm thin with a 4-inch display. As previous reports have indicated, the headphone jack will also be relocated, with it being moved from the top of the iPhone to the bottom. Previous reports also indicated that the size of the dock has been reduced drastically and is much smaller and it is similar to the size of a micro USB. The screen size of the iPhone has remained the same, since it was first launched. Apple is expected to increase the size of the display to 4-inches diagonally. While the width will not change, the brand will raise the height, thereby giving it an resolution of 1136 x 640.
Terry Gou, the CEO of Hon Hai Precision Industry or Foxconn (the company that builds iPhones) said that consumers should wait for the launch of Apple’s iPhone 5, and the newest 'i' devices will put Samsung’s Galaxy S III to shame. The new iPhone 5 is rumoured to release this September with a much bigger screen and probably a tapering design, featuring the latest iOS 6. |

We’ve already established that the Lumia 720 is Nokia’s best effort as far as Windows Phone 8 handsets go. This could soon change once the Lumia 925 hits markets, but as it stands now, the Lumia 720 offers the best blend of features and performance, wrapped in a beautiful package that’s quite affordable.
