iPhone 5 slated for mid-October release

In what seems like the mother of all information, the CEO of Orange in France has revealed the release date of the much anticipated iPhone 5. Orange CEO Stephane Richard said that if what he hears is true, the iPhone 5 will become available by the 15th of October, 2011. This seems like the most genuine bit of information since CEOs of major carriers usually get their information from the company itself. Apple is quite secretive regarding their upcoming products, so this information may not sit well with the Cupertino-based smartphone manufacturer.

Secrets being revealed?

A report by Business Mobile, without revealing any more technical information on the ‘precious’ product, added that there were special packages on offer for the iPhone 5. The report goes on to add that Apple is now accustomed to revelations made by Richard about upcoming products since he had also spoken about the release of the iPad 2 in the past.

As reported earlier, this information seems pretty genuine as rumours earlier suggest a first week of October release date for the iPhone 5 in the US through Best Buy. This makes sense as Apple has usually delayed the European launch of their product as compared with the US launch. For now, we have to just wait and watch.
