LG introduces new Optimus phone - Optimus Sol

LG Electronics have announced the addition of a new model in their Optimus smartphone series – The LG E730 or Optimus Sol. The new smartphone will run on Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and more or less stocks the common smartphone specifications, besides an Ultra AMOLED display.

The Optimus Sol's 3.8-inch WVGA ‘Ultra AMOLED’ display, according to LG, has a two-fold advanced reflection rate compared to standard AMOLED displays that helps reduce image quality degradation. The Optimus Sol will have a 1GHz CPU along with enhanced Flash 10.1 and a 5MP rear camera at a thickness of 9.8-mm. Also, LG is planning to introduce its new ‘Dark UI’, which utilizes less white light, in order to extend the battery life performance by a factor of 20 to 30 percent. Besides usual connectivity features, it will also have wireless multimedia connectivity through DLNA and Wi-Fi Direct.
This new handset will be introduced in Europe, beginning mid-September, followed by roll-outs in Central and South America and will be available in Black, Titan and White, its availability depending on the region. LG, currently, hasn’t mentioned any details about the phone’s release in South East Asia, but it will most probably be an early next year release. Also, no details about pricing have been divulged, but with a 3.8-inch screen running a 1 GHz CPU (which is not dual core), we believe this phone might feature in the mid-range phone market. |
