LG Prada 3.0 officially unveiled, brings luxury back on LG smartphones

After multiple image and specification leaks that started in October, LG has finally taken the wraps off their Prada 3.0 at a press event in London, yesterday. Towards the end of December, LG and Prada had renewed their partnership and announced that they would come together for the third time and launch a new smartphone by early 2012. However, in early December, the brands sent media invites to various tech sites with a sort of cryptic JPEG image about an event slated for the 14th of December. A few days back, the mystery surrounding the device in question vanished as the invite displayed that the LG Prada 3.0 would be officially announced.

Luxury meets LG technology again

Through the image and specification leaks, we pretty much knew what to expect from the upcoming smartphone. Prior to the launch, we saw the handset being benchmarked using the AnTuTu benchmarking software and from the scores that we got we saw that the handset featured a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread.

According to a report by BestBoyz, the luxury handset from LG and Prada is scheduled to be available by January 2012. The price has not been revealed yet, but it would be rather expensive given its designer attributes. The site goes on to state that though it comes with Android Gingerbread onboard, plans are in place for it to be upgraded to Google’s latest OS, Ice Cream Sandwich.
