Micromax unveils the Ninja 2 A56 at Rs. 5,999

| by Aaron Almeida | Smartphones

Micromax is easily one of India's best homegrown mobile phone manufacturers who have a range of smartphones under their belt that cater to a variety of audiences. The brand has several products that can compete with many international players. Keeping up with their trend of innovating and launching products at competitive prices with above average features, Micromax tried something that no other Indian manufacturer had done and launched a voice recognition service called AISHA in the Superphone Ninja. This feature was limited to a handful of other brands, most notable of which is Apple’s Siri found on the iPhone 4S and S-Voice which is found on Samsung’s Galaxy S III. Building up on their Superphone Ninja line-up, Micromax recently raised the curtains on another handset called the Ninja 2 A56 and like its predecessor, this model too, will feature the voice recognition assistant, AISHA.

AISHA also helps one to inquire about their missed calls, send messages, inquire date and time, weather conditions, and pose knowledge questions.

For the smooth functioning of AISHA in providing an intelligent and immediate response, Micromax has backend tied up with Indian portals, such as Timesjobs.com, Simplymarry.com etc. Through AISHA, users can also update their status on Facebook and Twitter.

We had recently reviewed the predecessor to the Micromax Ninja 2 A56, which is the Ninja A50 and we found that it was priced quite impressively at Rs. 4,999. At this time, we got to put AISHA to the test and we found that like Siri, if you have a clear voice and anything, but a thick or a peculiar accent, Aisha will not disappoint you. For simple things like placing reminders, calls, playing music, finding areas on maps, it works quite well. The only real issue we had with it was sometimes you’ll have to repeat what you want her to do, if you’re speaking in a conversational tone.
