MTS’ MTAG 401 Android phone comes with unlimited Internet. MTS, the popular mobile service provider has launched a new CDMA phone, called the MTAG 401. The phone is priced attractively at Rs. 8,999 and it comes bundled with three months of free Internet access. The phone runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and has a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. The phone runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 800MHz processor and there’s also a 1700mAh battery to ensure it runs long hours. There’s also a 3 Megapixel camera onboard. MTS bundles a 2GB memory card with the phone, but the phone supports memory cards upto 32GB in capacity. Leonid Musatov, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer for MTS India said that product was being targeted at the tech savvy youth. The offer also lets MTS users call other MTS users for free. ![]() An Android phone with free Internet for three months
MTS claims that the new MTAG 401 with its large screen will allow users to view television on the move, using the MTS TV application. Users will also have easy access to Google Mail, YouTube, Google Maps, apart from a bunch of other apps. MTS has other plans as well, which include the launch of a new Android tablet. The product is said to be based on the rather old Android 2.2 (FroYo) platform and like the MTAG 401, will offer free Internet connectivity. It’s also said to be bundled with several media apps.
MTS is offering a decent spec’d phone with the MTAG 401 with an attractive mobile plan. It’s not too expensive considering the specifications of the product. For those who like to experience the Android operating system and of course, freely use the Internet, this could be an attractive device to use. Most Android smartphone users remain very concerned about the data billing, while accessing the web for long hours. |
