New iPhone and iPods show up in Apple’s internal retail system

| by Aaron Almeida | Smartphones

October has traditionally been the time when Apple unveils their annual line of iPods. This year is going to take a different route, albeit slightly, as the Cupertino-based company is set to announce the next iPhone. We reported recently that Apple had sent an invite to select media houses with the tag line that read ‘Let’s talk iPhone' on October 4th. The big news is obviously the announcement of their flagship smartphone, but little is known about the same and this year’s iPod Touch portable media players.

Is it going to be one or two iPhones?

Apple set to announce iPhones as well as iPods on October 4th?

According to a report by 9t05Mac, a source known as Mr. X has let it be known that two of Apple’s upcoming announcements have been disclosed through Apple’s internal retail system. Three new iPod Touch models are reportedly featured in this internal system with the codename N81A. The report states that this likely represents white models of the fourth generation iPod Touch as N81 represented the black variant, which was announced last year. This means that the storage capacity would stay the same with them being 8GB, 32GB and 64GB, hence signifying the three different iPod Touch PMPs.

The source also has revealed to the website that a new iPhone SKU has come up in the system. The new device is reportedly codenamed N90A, which most likely means it is just a slight bump up from the present iPhone 4, which has a codename of N90. The report mentions that with there being two SKUs in the system, it could be a black and white variant. The website is not confirming this fact, but merely speculating that it could be the case.

We’ve already established that the Lumia 720 is Nokia’s best effort as far as Windows Phone 8 handsets go. This could soon change once the Lumia 925 hits markets, but as it stands now, the Lumia 720 offers the best blend of features and performance, wrapped in a beautiful package that’s quite affordable.
