Google’s handset that has been making waves in the latter half of 2009. The Nexus 1, has been a source of lot of speculation in terms of its features and assets. Now, thanks to the good folks down at Engadget who managed to obtain a test piece for review, we know a little more about the handset. Aside from the slightly tweaked out user interface and speedy deliver for accessing applications settings etc. the handset is otherwise just another Android handset. I have to admit that the Nexus 1 is quite the looker. Its large touchscreen display, touch-sensitive shortcut keys below it and track-ball will make navigation quite easy. The preview doesn’t really talk about too much except the more superficial additions to the UI. The backgrounds and wallpapers are all designed to be responsive to touch and quite animated, which in my opinion, is just a way to drain the battery or like the reviewer stated, an unnecessary use of the processor. However, it does seem like the handset is extremely fast though and that certainly counts for something. Engadget’s full review will follow shortly I’m sure and I’d love to hear what they have to say in detail, stay tuned. I'd hate to think that it's all just a bunch of hype for just another Android handset. |
