Pebble Blue Galaxy S III delayed, Samsung explains why

| by Aaron Almeida | Smartphones

When Samsung announced their Galaxy S III, the brand also revealed that upon launch the smartphone will be available in two colour variants - marble white and pebble blue. However, when the handset releases tomorrow in India, as scheduled, the only colour option that will be available will be the marble white variant, while the pebble blue version will be available only by the second week of June. As per a report by GSMArena, Samsung contacted them to reveal that the delay was due to the company's attempt to provide their customers with the best internal quality standards.

The statement by Samsung reads, “Samsung’s Galaxy SIII Pebble Blue version comes with a newly invented blue colour and special hyper-glaze material. In order to meet the highest internal quality standards and to provide the best quality Galaxy SIII to customers, a short supply of Pebble Blue version is expected in some regions in the next 2-3 weeks. Samsung is working hard to ensure that customers will get the Pebble Blue coloured devices as soon as possible.”

The website, however goes on to detail that an anonymous source has informed them that there actually was a manufacturing error in the front and back panels of the S III. This error was discovered after the handsets had been shipped to retailers. All these units have now been pulled back to replace the panels.

Coming at the end of the month

Blue version missing the launch date

The Samsung Galaxy S III has already launched in Europe and is expected to be unveiled in India, tomorrow. However, as of now, the only colour option that is available for purchase is the white version. If one cannot wait to get their hands on the handset; the white one will be up for grabs soon. If not, then one should expect the pebble blue option to be available by the second week of June.

If you’ve used any of Samsung’s flagships in the past, you’ll be right at home with the new S4. We quite liked the handset during our brief encounter with it a few weeks back and after using it for about a week, we have come to like it even more.
