Sample shots of the alleged international version of the Sony Xperia GX surface online

| by Aaron Almeida | Smartphones

Sony has been in the news quite a lot lately and over the last couple of weeks, the brand has been making waves with their official announcement of the Xperia GX and Xperia SX smartphones. Alongside the announcement, rumours have been surfacing regarding a yet unannounced handset from Sony, which is codenamed the LT29i Hayabusa. After the official announcement of the Sony Xperia GX, reports have been floating around indicating that Sony has been preparing an international version of the smartphone, in addition to the one bound only for Japan. However, recent reports have been suggesting that the LT29i Hayabusa may in fact be the international model of the Sony Xperia GX, as there is a lot of similarity between both the handsets. The latest bit of information of the GX comes from a report by Xperia Blog, where they have received information from a tweet by @coollead who claims to have taken sample shots from the international version of the Xperia GX.

As per the report, “One of our regular readers kindly got in touch with the first photo samples from the recently announced Sony Xperia GX. There are only two images and both taken indoors.” The report goes on to state, “They were taken in the DoCoMo Smartphone Lounge in Umeda, where the handset is available to demo. Apparently these were taken on the international version of the Xperia GX i.e. without the NTT DoCoMo logo on the front. The 13MP images are around 2.5MB each in size and look pretty good to our eyes, especially considering the low light environment.”

The difference between the international version of the handset and the Japanese bound device is that the latter sports an NTT DoCoMo logo, while the international model will merely feature the Xperia branding.
