Samsung’s Corby has been in the spotlight ever since the first one hit our shores. The range has been directed at the mid level segment and offered users quite bit of entertainment as well as social networking connectivity. But they all can’t be winners as some of the handsets like the Corby TV and Corby Plus weren’t quite as impressive as the some of the others. However, Samsung has decided to improve on the range a little further and it seems like a possible Android powered Corby just might be in the works. The handset, dubbed the I5500 Corby will be the first smartphone in the range. There’s very little information provided about the handset with regards to both features and design. A few reports are talking about this version being equipped with Wi-Fi, possibly 3G capabilities and maybe even GPS. Bluetooth is pretty much a given. The same reports are also talking about the handset running Android version 2.1 (Éclair). Although the handset is yet to be announced, there’s also been talk of a possible price which is rumored at 200 euro which would be about Rs. 11,500 (give or take) which would mean competition for Samsung's own Spica Android mobile. |
