Samsung Galaxy Ace, Fit and Pop Officially Launched in India

Samsung today announced the launch of three new smartphones in India – the Galaxy Ace, the Galaxy Fit and the Galaxy Pop. The phones are all powered by Google’s Android OS - version 2.2 Froyo. They had been available on pre-order for a while now, but it's nice to see an official announcement.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace has potential to be a very good mid-range phone. Check out the specs below:

  • 800MHz Processor
  • Android 2.2 Froyo
  • TouchWiz UI
  • 3.5-inch 320x480 HVGA Touch Screen
  • HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • 5 Megapixel Camera with Autofocus and LED Flash
  • Memory expandable up to 32 GB

The Galaxy Ace is priced at Rs. 18,290, but you can secure it off Flipkart for a mere Rs. 14,999.

We covered the Galaxy Fit getting a release a couple of weeks ago, but here’s a reminder of the specs:

  • 3.3-inch Capacitive Touchscreen
  • 3G, Wi-Fi and A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
  • 5 Megapixel camera with Autofocus
  • 160 MB Internal memory expandable up to 32 GB
  • Stereo FM radio with RDS
  • 3.5 mm audio jack

Samsung has priced the Galaxy Fit at Rs. 12,860 but it looks like the smartphone is also available for Rs. 10,359 on Flipkart.

The Samsung Galaxy Pop was renamed from the Galaxy Mini, targeted at users looking for an entry-level 3G smartphone. Check out the specs below:

  • 3.14-inches Capacitive Touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixel resolution
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps, A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
  • 3.15 Megapixel Camera
  • Memory Expandable up to 32 GB
  • Stereo FM radio with RDS
  • 3.5 mm audio jack

Samsung have priced the Galaxy Pop at Rs. 11,198 but again, Flipkart have it listed at a much cheaper price of Rs. 8,999.
