Shortly after it was revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Note II had notched up sales of 3 million handsets in its first 37 days, the Samsung Galaxy S III, the flagship smartphone from the Korean manufacturer, has hit the 30 million mark in sales worldwide.

In early September, Samsung had touched the 20 million mark and later had predicted that the handset would touch 30 million units sold before the end of the year. It appears that the brand has hit the mark sooner than expected even though major rival, Apple, has already launched the iPhone 5, the handset that was expected to dent the sales of the Samsung Galaxy S III.
A 64GB version of the handset was slated for launch later this year, and the handset has already appeared on online retail websites such as ePrice. This model is available in the recently announced Sapphire Black version, and is available for purchase for Euro 798.99 (approximately Rs 54,000). However, availability of the 64GB version is in short supply and it will be available in only select regions across the world.
At the rate Samsung is going, it will be only a matter of time before the Galaxy S III hits the 40 million mark.
