Samsung Galaxy S III to sell in India for Rs.38,000

| by Aaron Almeida | Smartphones

After an agonizing wait, Samsung finally raised the curtains on their Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone, which is the brand’s flagship smartphone. This handset is the successor to the highly successful Galaxy S II and with this new handset, a range of features had been announced. Samsung claims that its latest smartphone is inspired by nature. It recognizes one’s voice, understands their intention, and lets them share a moment instantly with ease. The Galaxy S III has been designed keeping nature in mind and they have styled it like a pebble. If one was wondering when this handset will be launched in India, then NDTV has just provided the answer to this question. The Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone will be available in India from the first week of June and is expected to launch at an MRP of INR38,000.

The reports states, “The smartphone will be launched in the first week of June, just after the May 29 debut in Europe. Coming to another important detail, Galaxy S III will be priced at Rs. 38,000 (MRP), while the street price is expected to be around Rs. 34,000. The pricing is in-line with recently launch quad core Android 'One X' from Taiwanese manufacturer HTC.” The flagship quad-core handset from HTC is posing as a great opposition to the yet unreleased Samsung Galaxy S III and if priced at  INR38,000, one may seriously want to consider the Samsung model and hold off from purchasing the HTC One X.

We contacted Samsung to get an official word regarding the pricing of this hotly anticipated smartphone, but they could not divulge any information pertaining to the Galaxy S III. They stated that since the handset was still not launched in India, they could not provide any information regarding the same.
