Samsung plans to sell 10 million Galaxy S4 units per month

| by Nikhil Subramaniam | Smartphones

After smashing all sales records with the Galaxy S3, Samsung is thinking of dialling it up to 11 with the follow-up to the 2012 flagship.

The Korean electronics giant plans to sell 10 million Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones every month starting from its release date and then throughout the year, smashing the sales of the Galaxy S3, reports Korean website Money Today.

Industry sources have confirmed that Samsung has been ordering huge numbers of parts and components for the Samsung Galaxy S4 amounting to around 10 million units for the first month. If Samsung’s mission is successful, the S4 would be bettering the mark set by the Galaxy S3, when it took almost 50 days to for its first 10 million units to be sold.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is one of the most eagerly anticipated phones of 2013 and already supposedly confirmed features of the phone are leaking out. The S4 is touted to feature a full-HD 1080p 4.99-inch AMOLED display featuring almost no bezel, which means there’s a good chance that the new handset will be similar in dimensions to the 4.8-inch Galaxy S3.

The Galaxy S4 will most likely come with Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa processor, which brings four Cortex A-7 cores and four Cortex A-15 cores that will share the processing duties depending on the task at hand. The clockspeed of the new processor is expected to be 1.8GHz and the device would come with 2GB of RAM.

Recent rumours also suggest that the phone will have a 13MP main camera capable of shooting 1080p videos and a 2MP front-facing camera for video calls.
