If you thought that the silence over the high profile Apple vs Samsung lawsuit, so far meant that the worst was over between the two technology strongheads, you may have to rethink. According to a report in GSMArena, which is being perceived as the latest development in this respect, Cupertino-based, Apple has been sued by rival Samsung over three wireless patents allegedly violated by the former's latest smartphone, the iPhone 4S. Trying to even it out?
This latest bit has been filed in an Australian court, and among other things Samsung is said to have asked Apple for access to their iPhone 4S's firmware source code. Additionally, Samsung's legal team has also sought details of Apple's agreements with all major Australian telcos, like Vodafone, Telstra, Optus, among others in a bid to give the iPhone 4S a tough time in Australia.
A little recap with respect to this lawsuit, would take us to the time when Apple managed to successfully gain a temporary ban on the sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. Now, if Samsung manages to get out the iPhone 4S firmware source code and other details on the agreements of the Cupertino-based company with Australian telcos, it may fuel its position in this battle.
