Samsung Electronics Co., has expanded its popular Galaxy range with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos in India. As an enhanced version of the widely popular Galaxy Ace, the Galaxy Ace Duos aims to offer GSM Dual-SIM functionality, in addtion to an enriched smartphone experience that enables its users to stay on top of their business, connect with friends and share content.
With the Smart Dual-SIM, users are not required to turn off the phone, reboot or switch SIM cards. The Smart Dual-SIM feature allows you to seamlessly use two numbers at the same time. When activated, this feature automatically forwards calls from SIM 2 to SIM 1 when the user is talking on SIM 1 or vice versa, ensuring there are no missed calls. With Dual GSM SIM cards, users can avail of the best pricing plans available across telecom service providers and optimise their spending. According to Samsung, the Smart Dual-SIM also provides better coverage, especially useful while travelling and allows multiple functions at the same time, like accepting calls, while web browsing. ![]() GSM + GSM version announced
The device is powered by an 832MHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The GSM variant of the Duos comes with a 1300 mAh battery that allows 6.5 hours of talktime on 3G network and 16 hours on 2G network. This device has been launched after the CDMA version of the Galaxy Ace Duos (CDMA + GSM), which we reviewed earlier.
Let’s have a look at the remaining specs of the Ace Duos:
“Keeping up with Galaxy Ace’s reputation of premium performance with advanced features, the Galaxy Ace Duos is conceptualized to enable users to create an optimum work/life balance,” stated Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Samsung Mobile & IT. “Based on the Android Gingerbread platform, the Galaxy Ace Duos allows users to manage their work and personal calls with the Smart Dual SIM while availing of the best pricing plans. Besides flexibility, users also enjoy more expansive coverage, especially when traveling. With the launch of the Galaxy Ace Duos, we have strengthened our innovative portfolio of Smart Dual SIM category,” added Yadav.
Galaxy Ace Duos comes pre-loaded with a host of interesting and useful apps. ChatOn enables users to instantly connect with friends and associates, while My Movies gives users access to hundreds of Indian movies, trailers and film songs. My Music allows users to download and listen to English and Bollywood numbers from a vast song collection. Another interesting app is Handy, which allows users to search, book and pay for flights, book movie tickets, search a restaurant by cuisine, reserve a table and stay updated with real time stock information.
