The Indian market will soon be witnessing another quad-core Android smartphone in the "affordable" category. A Chinese brand called JiaYu Mobiles is in plans of launching its phone in the country. This quad-core phone being talked about is the JiaYu G4 and one of its impressive features is the 1.2GHz quad-core CPU based on Mediatek MT6589 chipset with 2GB RAM.
JiaYu Mobiles reportedly will be opening its office in the country (Delhi) in March and will launch three Android phones in entry level, dual-core and quad-core categories priced at Rs 3,000, Rs 8,000 and Rs 9,000, respectively.
This quad-core phone being talked about is the JiaYu G4 and one of its impressive features is the 1.2GHz quad-core CPU based on Mediatek MT6589 chipset with 2GB RAM. The smartphone will sport a 4.7-inch IPS panel, a high definition display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It comes with Gorilla Glass 2 and it is quite needless to add what that translates to. This quad-core smartphone runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13 megapixel camera with CMOS sensor and LED flash and HD recording. It also sports a 3 megapixel front facing camera. It is fuelled by a 3000 mAH battery. ![]() Quad-core going cheaper
At Rs 9,000, the company surely has an interesting proposition to make, for that is one head turner of a price for a quad-core smartphone in the country. In fact, before talks of JiaYu G4 had surfaced, the S1 Titanium was being pegged as probably the cheapest quad-core smartphone in the country.
Just last month, Karbonn announced its budget quad-core phone, S1 Titanium, featuring superior specs like a 1.2GHz Quad Core processor, and a price tag of Rs 10,990. You can now go ahead and book the smartphone on Karbonn’s website.
A few days prior, Micromax launched its new A116 Canvas HD smartphone at a press event held in Delhi. The device is priced at Rs. 14,999. It is Micromax’s first smartphone to feature a quad-core processor.
The S1 Titanium's pricing gives it a major advantage against Micromax's A116. While the A116 has slightly better specs, there is still a major difference between their prices, which gives the advantage to Karbonn's device. Now, however, all eyes are fixed on what JiaYu Mobiles has to offer. |

We’ve already established that the Lumia 720 is Nokia’s best effort as far as Windows Phone 8 handsets go. This could soon change once the Lumia 925 hits markets, but as it stands now, the Lumia 720 offers the best blend of features and performance, wrapped in a beautiful package that’s quite affordable.
