Spice's ICS-capable Stellar Craze smartphone is now available for purchase for Rs. 6,599 on Saholic.com. The e-commerce website is currently offering a free recharge worth Rs.300 for prepaid users or Rs.300 for DTH users, along with the Stellar Craze.
Stellar Craze and Stellar Horizon have been two of Spice's eagerly awaited smartphones. Recently, there were reports about shipment delays affecting the availability of the smartphones. In a report published by Tech2.com in early July, we had anticipated that the phone would be available in the market at the latest by the end of July. The Spice Stellar Craze smartphone sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen, and is powered by an 800 MHz Snapdragon S1 processor with 200MHz GPU. The device runs Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) but is upgradeable to Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). ![]() Spice Stellar Craze as on Saholic.com

Another highly anticipated Spice smartphone has been the Stellar Horizon that was announced along with the Stellar Craze. The Stellar Horizon sports a 5-inch touchscreen bundled with Android v4.0 (ICS). It also packs in a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a dedicated 300MHz GPU for the game heads.
Other specifications of the Spice Stellar Horizon include
Spice announced its Spice Stellar range of smartphones in early June. Three products with varied screen sizes – 3.5 inches, 4 inches and 5 inches were announced by the company. The Stellar range offers ‘Security’ as the unique proposition, which promises protection against viruses, data loss, and theft. It assures the users of the security of financial activities carried out through the phone.
To address mobile data security concerns, Spice has entered into an association with NQ Mobile, one of the leaders in mobile security solutions space headquartered in China and USA, and operating in more than 150 countries. This tie-up was done to provide security software solutions in all Android devices of Spice. Security is very critical in today’s environment, as there are numerous threats in terms of malware, which can steal a user’s data, banking information, or simply make the phone sluggish.
The solutions offered by Spice will include an antivirus program that provides real-time protection from malicious Internet threats, and also offers flexibility for the user to set a schedule for regular scans of data in the device as well as SD card. Also in the security stable is a Network Manager that gives access to data such as traffic and sets the monthly data transfer limit. Other features include Anti-Theft lock and Vault-privacy lock for photos, videos, SMS and call logs and Secret Contacts. The users can update the virus/ malware database for a period of six months absolutely free. The Spice Stellar comes bundled with a free data plan of one year. |
